Accordingly, the Government of India uses ICEGATE and DGFT platforms to facilitate export-related registrations and customs procedures. What is an AD code
AD Code stands for Authorised Dealer Code. Generally, an exporter’s authorised bank issues this code. Therefore, exporters must visit their bank branch to apply for it.
An AD Code is a 14-digit numerical code issued after the bank verifies the exporter’s Import Export Code (IEC). Subsequently, the bank provides an official AD Code letter on its letterhead.
Furthermore, this code is required to register customs locations in ICEGATE and carry out export-related activities smoothly.
Documents required to register AD code in IceGate
- Bank certificate containing the AD Code
- Copy of IEC (Import Export Code) Certificate
- Copy of GST registration certificate
- Copy of Organisation’s PAN card
- Copy of Authorized signatory PAN card
- Organization’s cancelled cheque
- Board resolution (applicable for companies)
- Director or partner or proprietor basic info
- Application form
- Class 3 Digital signature (sign with encrypt) in the name of organisation

- Open the ICEGATE Portal
- Login using your user ID and password.
- Go to the profile option.
- Select the Bank Account option.
- Upload Supporting Documents.
- Choose Bank Account Management.
- Select AD Code Registration.
- Upload the AD Code Registration Form.
- Verify it using your digital signature.
- Finally, submit the application.
